Tacoma, WA (November 11, 2025) – Pfau Cochran Vertetis Amala (PCVA Law), locally based law firm recognized nationally for their work representing survivors of sexual abuse, has filed a lawsuit in Pierce County Superior Court on behalf of a former minor employee of Fircrest Golf Club in Fircrest, WA, alleging that the Club failed to protect her from sexual harassment by her direct supervisor.
The complaint, filed by PCVA attorneys Thomas B. Vertetis, William T. McClure, and Lauren E. Coates, asserts that Fircrest Golf Club knowingly retained John Jarman in a supervisory role despite prior reports of his inappropriate sexual conduct toward minor, high school-aged female employees. His duties included the ability to hire and fire staff.
According to the complaint, the minor, identified as T.R.G., was assaulted by Jarman while working under his supervision at the Club’s fitness center in 2024. The lawsuit alleges that Fircrest Golf Club was aware of prior sexual misconduct by Jarman, including a 2022 incident involving another underage employee, but failed to take any corrective or protective action.
“This case represents yet another tragic example of an institution ignoring clear warnings about predatory behavior,” said McClure. “Fircrest Golf Club had multiple opportunities to remove Mr. Jarman and protect the club’s young employees yet chose not to act.”
Coates added, “Employers have a fundamental obligation to maintain safe workplaces, especially when minors are involved. The Club’s failure to uphold that duty directly led to the trauma our client endured.”
The lawsuit seeks damages for the survivor’s emotional distress and economic losses, as well as accountability for Fircrest Golf Club’s alleged failure to supervise, investigate, and remove Jarman after prior complaints.
