PCVA partner Mallory Allen spoke with the New York City-focused online publication Gothamist regarding sexual abuse perpetuated by medical professionals against patients. There has been a spate of incidents in which New York City medical institutions have been accused of failing to protect patients from predatory medical professionals who have exploited the doctor-patient relationship to sexually abuse patients.
Mallory is part of the PCVA team handling dozens of cases against disgraced New York City urologist Dr. Darius Paduch, who is accused of sexually abusing more than a hundred patients across multiple hospitals that employed him.
“The focus of our lawsuits is on negligence, the hospital’s failure to protect the patients that are in their care,” Mallory told Gothamist. “It’s very apparent that there is a systemic failure happening here. They are failing their patients, failing to keep them safe from predatory physicians.”
