PCVA attorney Mallory Allen has filed several lawsuits on behalf of survivors of sexual abuse by New York Urologist, Dr. Darius Paduch.
Dr. Paduch worked at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and Northwell Health. He remains employed at Northwell and the suits allege that his employers were warned of concerning behavior, yet failed to take appropriate action to protect patients.
The assaults by Dr. Paduch took place in examination rooms and were veiled as medical treatment. He regularly recruited high school patients as “interns,” providing him with additional opportunities for abuse.
Like many abusers, Dr. Paduch insisted that what he was doing was harmless.
“You’re talking about a physician and hospital institutions whose patients put supreme trust in them,” said Mallory Allen. “To me, sexual abuse in this context is particularly egregious because you have vulnerable people looking for medical treatment and to be preyed upon in that environment is unacceptable.”
