The National Law Journal has recognized PCVA partner Darrell Cochran among its 2020 Litigation Trailblazers. The Trailblazer series spotlights professionals who are agents of change in their respective practice areas.
Darrell’s representation of plaintiffs set him apart as a leader in litigation, including a lawsuit against Backpage.com on behalf of young girls who had been sexually trafficked in website ads; a civil rights case against Puyallup School District for racial stereotyping and unfair treatment by faculty, administrators and coaches; and a case against the Washington State Department of Corrections involving the inadequate tracking of a violent offender who committed murder while on parole.
When asked about his future explorations, Darrell pointed to the last four years of reckless deregulation of every area of commerce. He says, “Plaintiffs’ attorneys will have to be vigilant to reinstitute and rectify safeguards through regulation to protect citizens. I look forward to helping in those endeavors.”
