Biography
Vincent Nappo represents survivors of sexual abuse in cases across the country. He has tried cases to verdict in multiple states and has obtained landmark verdicts, including a $25,000,000 verdict on behalf of a woman who was sexually abused in foster care in New Jersey. Vincent is tenacious in his fight for justice—and closure—for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Every day he sees firsthand the challenges survivors face because of the reckless acts of powerful entities and institutions. He combines his legal acumen, courtroom experience, and emotional strength and compassion to hold institutions accountable, whether it be governmental entities, the foster care system, schools, religious organizations or other youth serving organizations.
Over his career, Vincent has brought hundreds of successful lawsuits on behalf of children around the country—and adults who were sexually abused as children—against the predators that hurt them and the powerful institutions that ignored, covered-up, and acted in secrecy for years, even decades. Vincent has obtained hundreds of millions of dollars for abuse survivors through verdicts and settlements. Early in his career, Vincent worked tirelessly against online child sex trafficking and was instrumental in the landmark J.S. et al. v. Village Voice Media, et al. case that resulted in the governmental takedown of the infamous backpage.com website and subsequent criminal prosecution of the website owners.
For too long, institutions marginalized and ignored sexual abuse. Vincent takes pride in giving a voice to survivors and has devoted his practice to representing these men and women— empowering them, supporting them in court, and fighting for them at trial.
For Vincent, representing survivors of sexual abuse is not just a business transaction. Vincent genuinely cares for each of the men and women he represents and pours his heart and soul into his fight for justice. Vincent guides his clients compassionately through the highly emotional and complex legal process while doing everything in his power to uncover the truth and ensure that they receive the best representation and outcome possible.
In the community, Vincent volunteers and serves on boards that support abuse survivors in the mental health world and beyond. As part of his broader interest to make communities safer and fight against child sexual abuse, Vincent works with law enforcement, victim advocates, think tanks, policy groups, politicians, and others. Vincent cares deeply about the work he does in the courtroom and views every case as a privilege to speak out against evil and empower his clients to take control and obtain justice.
