Hot Pot of Indian Food

Kaur v. Virk, et al. – $1,300,000 Settlement

About the case

Our client, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur, a 50 year-old married mother of three, suffered serious second and third degree burns over 30% of her body following a work related accident in which she was told by her employer to carry a large pot of hot liquid.  Sadly, Ms. Kaur lost her balance and the contents of the large pot poured over her chest and abdomen. Tom Vertetis and Elizabeth Calora were able to successfully argue the Washington’s Labor and Industries Act did not bar Ms. Kaur’s claim and that she may pursue a tort claim in King County Superior Court.

Tom and Elizabeth were able to resolve her case against her employer for $1,300,000.
